Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is local to the Phoenix area which will allow Pinnacle Bank to make quick decisions for our clients. They are a diverse group and bring a great deal of expertise in a number of industries.

Michael J. Thorell, Chairman/CEO
Mike is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacle Bank. He oversees all functions and strategic initiatives for the bank.

Bo Hughes, President/COO
Bo has been a CPA since 2005 and formerly served as the Chief Financial Officer from December 2008 until May 2011. Currently, she serves as the President/COO overseeing the daily operations of all functions throughout the bank.

Bradley R. Nilsen, Vice Chairman/Lead Director
Brad is an owner of several valley businesses and was formally the Vice-President and General Manager of KNXV-TV, ABC 15.

Thomas P. Rietz
Tom is President of Canterra Lighting, Inc. and distributes and supplies a wide variety of LED Lighting Products to both Commercial and Residential Clients throughout the world. Tom formerly served as Chairman of the Board.

Quinn DeAngelis
Quinn is a general business and estate planning attorney in North Scottsdale. He assists a variety of closely held business owners, professionals and athletes with their general business formation, acquisition and sale issues as well as their estate, trust and succession planning.

James P. Gilligan
Mr. Gilligan is a principal with Kinsale Realty Group which owns and operates retail shopping centers in the metro Phoenix area.

Robert C. McIver
Rob is the Chief Financial Officer and Principal with The Athens Group, a full service development company specializing in high-end luxury resort and hotel development.

Stephen Y. Schwanz
Stephen is President and Managing Director of Franchise Capital Advisors, Inc. Franchise Capital Advisors provides debt origination, sale/leaseback and mergers and acquisitions advisory services to chain retail industries.

David L. Timmerman
Dave is President of American Financial Lending, Inc. a local mortgage banker/broker located in Phoenix. In addition to his management responsibilities, Mr. Timmerman maintains a personal client list specializing in high dollar luxury homes.

Robert Leonard
Rob is the owner and Executive Director of Colonial Capital, LLC, a Private Money Lending Institution serving Arizona and other areas within the western United States.  

William A. Robert
Bill is a retired Arizona bank executive with tremendous experience in all areas of the industry from small de Novo institutions up to affiliates of large regional banks. He has held positions as President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of most of those banks.  

Mark S. Bosco
Mark is the Managing Attorney and Shareholder at Tiffany & Bosco.  He has been a regular lecturer at numerous regional and national mortgage banking and default servicing seminars, and he has published numerous articles on mortgage banking, default servicing and related topics. Mr. Bosco has been appointed as approved Counsel for Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) and Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) to provide services in the areas of foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation, eviction, related litigation, and REO closing proceedings for the State of Arizona. Mr.Bosco has also served on the Board of many charitable, youth related and financial organizations. He is very active in dedicating his time to both youth organizations and charitable causes.

Gregory D. Stanford
Greg is the President/CEO of Legendary Homes. He has committed himself to building custom homes that convey a sense of personality and quality. As an Arizona based family-owned business Legendary Homes has remained true to its roots of personal service and open communication. Thirty years in the custom home construction business has given Mr. Stanford the knowledge base to build homes that are not only showpieces, but sound investments.
